Counting Down:

2 weeks left!!!!

Baby is due so soon!  I can't believe the time has flown so fast... it's true what they say, you know.

March 20, 2011 was the CBCMV shower, hosted by Sam Sonke and Ema B.  So fun!  The decor was adorable, and the games were a blast!  I love my ladies from Calvary so much.  As soon as I get pictures from Roni, I'll update this post.  Here's a shot of Elise and I and the cute decor!!

I'm feeling really good, and no signs of early labor as of this week.  Baby is moving around consistently, though the movements are less jerky, and more like positioning.  This little one has it's butt sticking out most of the time - Patti got to feel at the Rea's party last Saturday!

I haven't had too many contractions yet, they mostly happen if I'm working out, but not always.  I think that's a good sign that Baby's still cookin' - I really think that the due date is pretty close to when Baby will arrive... possibly even after that.

James & I are getting excited to have visitors from his fam come out to see us.  Grandpa Mark will be here on April 18th, and Amie (that's Salli's Grandma name from Olivia) will be out in May.  Hopefully Auntie Sara & Uncle Scotty will be joining her, too!

I'm gearing up for my last week at work, enjoying my last day of spring break today.  I still have to finish my lesson plans for the substitute (I love my team, but c'mon, ladies, you can't just copy your plans for me??) so that everything is covered.  I go back Monday, and then Friday the 1st will be my last day of instruction.

Baby Shower Fun

Oh my goodness, how much this Baby is loved already!  It was such a blast to have so many wonderful people come out to celebrate the arrival of Baby Brown last Saturday, March 5!  Oh, and I would first like to thank our lovely photog, Tita Lori!!

The turnout was awesome.  Here's just a few of the guests:

The food was so tasty!
The mac & cheese was definitely a hit!
Delicious desserts

And there was a mountain of presents to open.  I’d better actually get started on my thank you cards and just plow through to get them done this week.  Maybe if I make a plan on how to break it down (write 5 a day), I’ll actually get it done!

Some highlights from the lovely gifts we received:
One of two awesome diaper "cakes" from Heather
(the other from Michelle, you can see it in the picture of the food at the end of the table)
Beatles onesie from Wendy
Phillip approved of the bunny cap - "Aw how cute!  I wish this could be my size!"
Matching bunny slippers for Mommy!  (From Cristin)
Beautiful hand-made quilt and pillow from Auntie Babsie

I think my favorite part of the shower was the games.  We played 6 games:
* Clothespin game - Don't say "Baby"!!  (winner: Heather)

* Guess the number of jellybeans (actual 474; winner:  Laura’s estimate 450)

* What’s the size of my Baby Bump? (winner: Corie)

* Memory tray + what’s Momma wearing? (winner: Sam)

* Pick the safety pins out of the rice (winner: Laura)

* Play-Doh Baby (winner: Jenny - the yellow owl suit next to the strawberry)
Phillip helping me choose a play-doh baby winner

Like I said above, Baby is already so loved.  Thank you to everyone that was able to attend, and those who sent their love that weren't able to attend.  We love you, and keep an eye on your mailbox over the next week or so for a note from the Browns.

Week 35!!

A very short 5 weeks are left, and it’s been busy!
February 17 was the baby shower at work.  My new work family was awesome, and started Baby’s library with a collection of Eric Carle books & plush dolls!  I love all the sweet yellow outfits everyone bought, and the starter kits I KNOW we’ll use.
I’ve been meaning to update the blog since then, but I only just finished the thank you cards for all of the wonderful people at the school... I started writing them the night of the shower, but then got caught up with report cards, portfolios and the like.  Now that those are turned in, I'm finally attending to essentials like blogging and thank you cards!  Yay.
March 4 I went shopping for a new outfit because Michelle threw me a beautiful shower yesterday.  It seemed to take forever because I liked a lot of the outfits.  Here’s a sample of what I didn’t end up getting:
The disco ball bump
cowl neck top - it turns out my non-maternity top like this fits me fine!
Jersey knit dress
ruffle top and black cropped jacket
denim cowgirl dress

Saturday was the shower, but I’ll post on that separately - it was so much fun, and I loved feeling so special with so many wonderful guests!!!  And it’s not over, Sam S. & Ema are planning one more shower for me on the 20th.  I love this whole pregnancy thing, it’s like celebrating for 9 months!  Plus I’ll get to keep on celebrating when Baby finally arrives!
James and I are finally narrowing down the names lists, but I don’t want to give anything away - that just wouldn’t be any fun, now would it?  Nope, not even a hint.  :)
